A company intranet that lives on its own

A company intranet dies the day nobody feeds it any more. This one fills itself, because what it shows comes from the work, not from someone writing it up.

The news in your field, spotted and cross-checked

Every working day, the regulatory watch spots what matters for your business, cross-checks the information across several sources and writes it up for your teams, in their working language. Your own internal news sits alongside it, in the colours of your instance.

Everyone sees what they have read and what they haven't. In the morning, the assistant highlights the most recent unread item, and you can mark it as read without even opening the page.

The team, and who knows what

The staff directory carries job titles, offices, skills, what each person can help with and what they want to get better at. Each profile also shows the answers that person has validated for the team, plus their useful notes, which only they can edit.

Filters combine by site and by role, with live counters. In an organisation with several offices, it is the quickest way to find the right person.

Calendars, both people's and client files'

Client meetings, work slots, sharing between colleagues: the calendar handles both. A meeting linked to a client file shows the client, their code and their contact details, and opens the file in one click.

When a client suggests a date by email, the suggestion is picked up, including inside an attached invitation, and lands in the lead contact's calendar ready to confirm. Nobody re-types a date read in a message.

Internal messaging, off the leash

Private threads between team members, one to one or in groups, with emojis and attachments. Adding someone to a thread gives them the history, and the thread says so, so nobody is caught out.

There is no presence indicator, no "seen at 2.32 pm", no "typing". An unread counter is enough. That is a deliberate choice: we want a place where colleagues write to each other, not a tool that eats up the day.

What we refuse to do with it

No social feed, no likes, no leaderboard of the most active users. Those mechanics create a stir and rarely any work. An intranet should close again once the information has been found.
