Internal messaging, why not email
Between colleagues, email is too heavy: a subject line, an opening, a signature, just to ask whether the file has gone out. And internal messages drown client messages in the same inbox. That is what internal messaging is for: writing short, among yourselves, in the place where you already work.
Ours lives inside the platform, next to the calendar and the news feed. A meeting invitation arrives there as a message, and every colleague's profile takes you to it in one click.
One to one or in a group
A one-to-one thread always reopens: with the same colleague, there is only one conversation, and the whole history stays in it. A group is created as needed. Adding someone to a thread gives them the full history, and the thread says so, so nobody is caught out.
You write from the messaging area, or from a colleague's profile in the team directory, via "Send a message".
Write, attach, react
A message can carry an attachment, up to 10 MB, and get a reaction picked from a palette of ten emojis. The History button finds an old message by its words, across all your threads.
What's waiting is visible
Your contacts appear in the column, with the people who have written to you at the top. The badge in the menu lights up as soon as a message is unread, and turns to alert when it has been waiting more than one working day. A dot on a colleague's photo shows whether they are online.
There is no "seen at" and no "typing". That is deliberate: we want a place where colleagues write to each other, not a tool that eats the day.
Nobody else reads it
The content of a thread can only be read by the people in it. Your instance's administrators have no access to it, neither do we, and the assistant doesn't read a word of it. The daily briefing only tells you who wrote to you and how many conversations are waiting.
What it doesn't do
It connects team members with each other, not with the outside world: a client writes to you in their client file, and your exchanges with them stay in that thread. It does not replace your email either, and there is no calling or video conferencing.
See it on the company demo
At Ateliers Belledonne, a manufacturing company of 80 people across three sites, the internal messaging follows a late order between sales administration and logistics. The demo opens without signing up, from the home page.
