A staff directory, what it is for
It is the illustrated directory of team members: who is who, who does what, who to ask. As long as the company fits into one office, everyone knows. As soon as it has several sites, starts recruiting or teams cross paths less often, the question "who handles that?" comes up several times a day, and the answer goes through the one person who knows everybody.
A face and a job title are not enough to answer that. What helps is knowing what each person can lend a hand with.
A staff directory, sorted by skills
The team page lists team members by office, with their photo and job title. You can search by name, but also by skill, and the filters by site and by role combine, each with its counter. In an organisation spread over several sites, it is the quickest way to find the right person.
A profile that tells you who to ask
A colleague's profile gives their job title, their office, their skills, the topics they can help with and the ones they want to get better at. On the first line, how to reach them: call their extension when it has been filled in, or write to them in the internal messaging.
What each person has shared with the team
Each profile shows the answers that person has approved and the assistant has kept: what they've contributed to everyone, question after question. It also holds their useful notes, the client files they look after, their memos and their links, visible to colleagues and editable by them alone.
Everyone keeps their own profile
In their profile, everyone fills in their photo, their job title, their office, a short introduction, their skills, what they can help with, what they would like help with, and their birthday, which shows up in the feed. The accounts themselves arrive in one go, from the Excel or CSV file you already have.
The assistant knows the team
When a question needs a human, the assistant points to the colleague who has already approved an answer on a similar case, or who has declared the skill. So the team directory is not only useful to those who open it: it is useful to every question put to the assistant.
See it on the company demo
At Ateliers Belledonne, a manufacturing company of 80 people across three sites, the team have listed their skills. Filter by site, open a profile, then ask the assistant who can help you with the till: it searches the team's skills. The demo opens without signing up, from the home page.
What the team does not show
Your clients don't appear in it, even when they have access to their client area: the team view only shows team members. It isn't an HR system either: no contracts, no leave, no appraisals. And the skills are the ones each person declares, not an assessment.
